Would you mount a doe’s head?

I am going hunting this year in East Texas and I am going on a doe hunt. This is the first time I will hunt a doe, I was wondering if you would consider mounting a doe’s head on your wall? I don’t know why I want to do it or am I just wasting money and time?

Sure I have seen plenty. Next to a big buck it would be nice to see a pair.
As a former master taxidermist, and taxidermy school founder/instructor, I can assure you that the females of the species have their places on the wall of your game room just as much as the males. They really set off and compliment a big male, especially when they are mounted as if interacting with each other as in grooming, courting, touching noses, etc. The choice to be made is ultimately your own and should not be influenced by anyone outside of your home who won’t be looking at and remembering the animal any where near as much or as often as you will. So, ultimately, the decision is yours. Good luck in coming to your conclusion. If she’s a beauty, and worthy of your memory and tribute, go for it. Have a GREAT hunt.
Hey man, personally, I would not do it because I don’t have that kind of money, but a taxadermist will mount anything outside grandma i’ll bet. But hey, if you are proud, have the money, and patience (it takes a while) then I say go for it. When and if you ever get a buck, the two will complement each other, and they might even get each other coffee in the morning if one wakes before the other.
Never. Do it, and you’re definitely going to get laughed at.
Oh, well, here’s that American Indian in me showing up again.
Any deer is a noble animal, so it is your obligation to honor that nobility. She ran just as fast as He did, She was just as brave and powerful in spirit as He was, and you should be just as thankful for Her gifts as His gifts.
Honor Her.
Let others honor Her.
Yes I have considered it.
One of the local gun stores in my area even has a deer but mounted, tail raised and everything. It’s get a lot of laughs which is why it’s there. That’s the side all deer hunters have seen to often.
There is nothing wrong with mounting a doe’s head.
A full shoulder mount would look even better than a neck mount alone.
On the same wall a big buck in the sneaking pose, head turned looking at a nice doe with her head up and twisted some.. eating grapes off a vine would be really neat I think.
Why do you want to kill animals? Do you need the food? Instead, why not get a camera, take their photos in the wild & hang those pictures on your wall?
I wouldn’t, but I don’t hang trophies on my walls at all. You do what pleases you and screw what other people think.
* Yes really.* Why not?*
