Aw, man, I love Pharaoh Hounds. They’re completely and utterly wrong for me, but so handsome.
My English Mastiff’s ancestors originated in Central Asia. Phoenician traders introduced them to the British around 500 BC.

I have 3 dogs, all different breeds:
Chihuahua- Theory is that the Chihuahua originated in Egypt as a companion dog owned by kings & queens and were traded into Spain and later Mexico.
Pomeranian- Poms originated in Lapland and Iceland, as they are descended from the Spitz line of dogs. They were probably bred down in the area of Europe that is now Poland (once called Pomerania).
Chihuahua/Toy Poodle mix- Shes is a mutt, so she came from Mutt land
My favorite breeds:
Chihuahua- See above^
Vizsla- The Vizsla originated in Hungary, and is believed to be a descendant of the Transylvanian hound and the Turkish yellow dog. It has been used in the development of several other modern breeds, including the Weimaraner.
Australian Shepherd- The Australian Shepherd was developed in the United States as a working dog that herded livestock on ranches.

Exact origin of the Chinese Crested is unknown.. there are beliefs that it is descended from the African Hairless dog.. and there’s also evidence of hairless dogs being bred in areas of South America.

My Favorite Breed: Jack Russell Terrier!!!!!!
They originated from a mix of other terriers in England. They were first bred by Parson John Russell ALA Jack Russell. He was an avid hunter so he wanted to create the ideal hunting dog. Jack Russell’s were bred to scare the quarry (like fox or other small animals) out of their dens so that they could be hunted. The breed is less than 200 years old and is actually considered to be more of a type of dog than an actual breed (therefore they are more healthy, like a mixed-breed dog)
JRT’s are now bred all around the world, although the AKC only recognizes Parson Russell Terrier’s and not Jack Russell Terrier’s (they are pretty much the same thing).
I got my JRT in Tokyo but her parent’s and grandparents were Australian champion dogs.

Samoyed – The Samoyed’s origin is that of central Russia, specifically, Siberia. This area of the world is considered by most as one of the harshest and most unforgiving terrains in which humans have ever lived. The Samoyede people who lived here made their homes of conical tents that were covered with reindeer hides, or bark, called “chooms”. These people lived a nomadic life, moving with the seasons, and with the movement of their herds of reindeer. With this type of life, a single purpose dog would be inappropriate, therefore, the Samoyed had to fill a number of jobs within the family circle. These dogs were developed by the ancient Samoyede people to pull sleds, herd reindeer, and to help hunt wild animals, including the polar bear, for food and clothing. Due to the fact that this area is so remote, the Samoyed was bred true for many centuries, without interference or crossbreeding to other breeds.
Great Dane – Historians claim that there are drawings of dogs that resemble the breed on Egyptian monuments from roughly 3000 B.C. The earliest written description of a dog resembling the Great Dane can be found in Chinese literature of 1121 B.C. Some sources state that dogs similar to
