The only thing Russia is good for is trapping. They have many exotic big game animals but I have never heard of a person going on an expedition there. But outside the US Russia is the largest supplier of Fur bearing animals to the Chinese and Korean fur markets. There is ALOT of money in this industry to be had. And in a good year with a mild winter they often pass up US fur production which hurts our fur prices.
I believe theres a sheep like animal there named the markhor in the mountains towards the southeast of the country, on the border of nepal and china, because you can hunt them there.
and in the west there should be similar animals to europe like rabbits, pheasants, wild boar, red deer, etc, but you can get most of those in the southern states, so? should be cheap too since the bad economy there.
I have heard of brown bear, Wild Boar, and Red Deer. I don’t think its exactly a hunting hotspot though.
