what kind of hunting rifle can instantly kill an asiatic black bear?

please don’t think that i am cruel to animals, i just need to gather some info for the manga i am creating. the story involves hunting an asiatic black bear. hope to have good answers from you guys. thank you all
any center fire rifle will kill a bear. and asiatic black bears aren’t huge.

Probably large bore rifle 8mm or larger with a heavy, 300 grain minimum, bullet. This is only about half of it. Study the anatomy and muscle structure just hitting the heart or lungs may not bring it down. Large bears, especially grizzlies need very specialized rounds that actually destroy a lot of muscle structure that puts them into shock and kills them rather than a heart or lung shot. Game hunters don’t go for head shots since it messes up the fur and mounting possibilities.
If your character is your average everyday type hunter, I’d say go for the 30/06, a guy a little more “into it” – guys willing to pay a bunch more on ammo and bragging rights – go for a 300 mag. Someone into serious overkill…. go for a Barrett 50 cal (never actually heard of someone using that for hunting, but would make an interesting character, albeit an idiot… IMO).
The reality is pretty much anything in the 30 cal class can drop a bear with a well placed shot. As far as that “instantaneous drop”, that depends more on the hunter. A heart/lung shot is going to drop it pretty quick, a severed spinal column will drop it instantly, but I always considered that kind of a shot to be cruel. A flesh wound will piss off a bear (or any animal for that matter).
Do some research on bear hunting (its not like there’s a shortage of information out there) and put yourself in the hunter’s shoes. Again, IMO, it will make for a far more convincing character.
any good centerfire cal., just emphasize practice and shot placement. i would have the character use a 7mm mag. , a 30.06, 0r a .308 cal. rifle.

Any 30 caliber will if you hit it in the right spot. If you hit it in the heart or brain its dead right then. If you hit it in the spine, its not dead yet, but its immobile. If you hit it in the lungs its dead within about 10 seconds. Its the shot placement, not the gun. Id use a 30-06, a 308, or something in that area.
Any deer-class or better cartridge will do, but the setting and the background of your protagonist will make a difference. If he’s Russian, for instance, he’ll probably choose 7.62x54R. Other Europeans might choose 308 or 9.3×62. An American might go with 30-06 or one of the new magnum cartridges developed in the US, depending on his personality. A wealthy Englishman might choose one of the old African medium bores, like 333 Jeffery or even 350 Rimless Magnum (Rigby) from his grandfather’s collection.
Sorry guys its really shot placement. A 270 on average will take down most anything ,1 shot 1 kill.
I live in Alaska and I know alot of people who hunt bear up here with the .338 winchester.But if you realy want a true Safari grade Big game rifle I’d sugest the .458 Winchester.Its basicly an elephant gun
hit it in a vital location. any modern centifire will do fine.
