What kind of 4th July Games can I make for my 7&10 yr old neice and 5 yr old nephew?
ByWe kive in Siesta Key, Florida, and every 4th of July we spend at my Parents Condo which is on the the Beach. The problem is, EVERY YEAR it pours and the Kids get SOOO Bored. What are some games that I can come up with they can play. Mind you, The kids are: 2 girls 7 &10 and a boy 6 years old….My Sister wants to set up a Treasure hunt for them…They’ll Enjoy that, but what else…I dont want them to be stuck inside the condo all day….Mind you, Its all ready thunderstorming all week so far!
Its a Family Tradition to spend the day at the condo, and there are rules and regulations at this place…Water balloon fights and anything that requires something like that wont work…

Go to the movies, watch Ice Age 3 in 3D, they’ll love that. Car ride, play monopoly, play xbox(if you don’t have one go to a second hand store and get the old xbox, they cost around $20. its old but better than nothing)

nasty christmas (except it’s 4th of july. You wrap a few red, white, and blue items from the dollar store and place them under a lamp or something. Then you have then choose items, unwrap them, and the other two can steal it if they want to. It’s actually really fun!)

Another thing is to look up periods during the independance day, and during the history time, and then have them dress up in different costumes and act out different events during this time.

Egg and spoon race:
Get 9 raw eggs. Paint three red, three white and three blue. Get three small baskets/containers and place one of each colored egg in the container. Give each child a spoon and place a marker, say 20 feet away (for example). The kids have to place an egg on the spoon and race to the marker and back without the egg breaking. They each have three eggs (one red, one white, one blue). The winner is the one who finishes the race without breaking any eggs and is the fastest.
You could also try making some Independence day themed crafts (the internet is a good place to look). Kids that age love making things.
Get the kids involved in some cooking/baking. They generally love to help create something delicious.
Puppet shows are always interesting for kids. Get them involved and have a fun little show.
