What is the best season to go house hunting? (canada)?

I am looking for a house to rent and am having an argument as to when is the best time to look for a house. He says it’s in the spring because then we wont have to move in the snowy cold , Canadian, winter. I say it’s better to move in the winter because then we can see how he insulation is in the house and how much heat it does or doesn’t let out. (our present place has very bad insulation and is covered in ice.)
Any ideas?
Yeah I guess that makes sense. I guess I am just really anxious to get out of this place and get into something different. (i have lived here for like 12 years)

Spring it is, for people that have a family and don’t want to bother abouth moving during the school year typically look to move in the summer months.
Spring, for the ease of not schlepping your stuff through the snow.
Being able to tell how warm a place is and how good the insulation is would be tricky. You’d need to hang out for a while, see where the thermostat is set, etc. Too many variables to really be able to make a decision based on that alone.
If you’re renting, ask the current tenants how the insulation is. If buying, have it inspected thoroughly.
