geese spend the night on water in N.J. where you are they do too, if you know where they feed,be there to greet them. that’s the best way,get there before the geese. On doves I find a flyway for the afternoon,it may work with geese heading for water to spend the night.Learn their habits,comings and goings.

Best Conditions to hunt geese?
You call in sick to work – and get your bag limit before the coffee in your thermos is cold.
Those are ideal conditions my man.

Depends where their feeding grounds are and night time bedding down areas are. Usually they like fields in day time and water at night. So in the early am they leave the water for fields and pm leave the fields for water.
The best conditions I have ever seen is a foggy and or a snowy morning when they fly low……..limit out in 5mins.
