What is so wrong with hunting?

By

When you hunt an animal properly, it dies very quickly. It gets to live it’s life in the wild, and it then dies a quick, painless death. It is also needed for conservation and pest control. Rabbits eat vegetables in gardens. Coyotes, foxes, raccoons and wolves kill pets and livestock. Possums also occassionally kill livestock and pets. Hogs take away food from deer, and they literally destroy gardens. Deer cause car accidents, eat from gardens and reproduce so much that they end up starving to death because there’s not enough food to go around.

A lot of vegans/vegetarians always tell me that hunting is barbaric, but it’s actually very humane and necessary. Why are you against hunting?
They’re not like people. God put us at the top of the food chain for a reason. So we could kill and eat animals.

Buddy, I don’t know who you see fox hunting, but it’s generally done differently. Today, it’s usually done with a .22mag and a few dogs, but without horses.

And foxes tear through fences and dig holes.
techno:
Obviously you know nothing of hunting. For one thing, kill shots are not head shots. A deer’s skull is very thick. A kill shot is made by shooting the deer’s vital organs which are located in the chest. And no state stocks up on deer.

They are just like people.

The answer is because alot of vegetarians who think ‘eating meat is wrong’ are very confused people.

i believe fox hunting is stupid, i am fairly sure you could build something that is fox proof rather than gathering up 10 men and horses, 30 dogs and spend the day running around the countryside in long red coats looking like a complete penis

but hunting for food i completely except, wish more people would consider it rather than buying mass farmed unhealthy crap form the supermarket.

I am vegetarian and I am not against it. However I am against prepubescent(little kids) carrying firearms to go hunting at an early age.
Anyways, I am vegetarian because eating another being that has eyes, muscles, physical senses, etc. is a little disturbing. I don’t see much wrong with hunting itself.
However, I would like to correct you on the part where you said it is a painless death. I

Just the standard liberal delusions. You know ignoring facts and basing everything on emotions.

6

How do you feel if you being hunt by something else, alien maybe?. It kills your families and the one you love. Do you think it right or wrong? and I’m not a vegetarians

7

What is wrong with posting your questions in the right section?

For the record, I don’t think hunting is anywhere near as barbaric as what goes on at corporate factory farms.

1. If you ever seen hunting, most of the time there is not a perfect head shot, and the deer(or other animal) dies a very painful death.

2. It is also not for pest control as many states actually have to STOCK deer to keep the population up high enough for hunters. Killing deer also increases the deer food supply thus resulting in higher numbers. And unless we make deer extinct, they will keep coming on to the property of land owners and eating their plants. Many animals have once been “overpopulated”, but we’re hunted to extinction. Furthermore, Nature has been able to control the populations of animals for billions of years, I do not see why hunters think that this is changing.

3. Also, look at Alaska, where Sarah Palin wanted to pay hunters go out in the wilderness, miles away from where anyone lives, and shoot wolfs from planes.

4. Taxpayers also expected to pay for public lands for hunters when 95% of us don’t hunt. Hunting licenses do not nearly cover this cost.

5. Enjoying killing animals is also one the 14 signs of serial killer.

6. How is it fair the the hunter gets to have a gun and the deer gets nothing?

P.S.:
I also maybe able to understand hunting on your own property, but not going out to the forest where the animals live to kill them. How would you feel if someone shot at your family members for “sport?”

P.S.S.: I love how conservatives love to say liberals like to feel rather than think, because the more liberal a state the higher education levels tend to be.

ok I agree and disagree with you.. I don’t think it is right to kill an animal for sport like hunting is.. if a man goes out and kills like 5 bucks, honestly do you think he killed all of those to eat, one is more than enough to feed a family, he did that just to feel like a man, to brag to his friends, hey I killed more deer than you. It is absolutely ridiculous. If you hunt just because you absolutely have to for survival, and not kill more than you need, then it is okay. However just to kill when it is unnecessary is horrible and wrong. I do think it is better that the animals gets to live freely before it is killed unlike the farmed animals. I am a vegetarian and i do not eat animals because it is not necessary for my survival and kill for no reason is WRONG! I would not kill animals so i would also not buy meat because someone else has killed it. GOD MADE ALL LIFE; NOT JUST HUMANS. I HAVE CHOSEN TO LIVE WITH WILDLIFE BECAUSE TO ME, THEY SHOW MORE LOVE, COMPASSION, DEVOTION, AND LOYALTY THAN THE HUMAN RACE. ANIMALS DO NOT CHOP DOWN THE FORESTS OR KILL FOR THE LOVE OF KILLING. THEY DO NOT KILL THEIR OWN KIND. THEY DO NOT POLLUTE THE OCEANS, LAKES, RIVERS OR THE AIR WE ALL BREATHE. WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU HEARD OF AN ANIMAL KILLING A HUMAN IF IT WERE NOT PROTECTING IT’S YOUNG OR WAS WOUNDED.

I personally find it distasteful, but I also find it much more pleasant than eating an animal raised in a pen for the reasons you describe.

I’m a vegan that doesn’t have a problem with hunting for food. Not everyone is going to agree with your personal view on things…so relax, you’re not going to talk them out of it. It’s ironic that I often hear that vegetarians try to push their views on everyone but sheesh…look at you go.

i wouldn’t say i’m against hunting all together, but i’m against hunting as a sport, and when people are so proud of the fact that they killed an innocent animal that they put the animal’s head on their wall!!! if you’re doing it for food, that’s one thing…but killing for fun or pleasure is horrible.

In the United States (I want to avoid generalizing about countries I don’t live in) we have a highly developed, industrialized society capable of providing more than enough food to feed the nation without killing any animal. Hunting’s original purpose was to provide food for humans and it has outlived it’s need as a means of survival in most areas. When my great grandpa killed a squirrel or rabbit, it was to feed his family because they lived on a farm and could rarely make it to town. When my friends take their expensive F250 out to their private hunting land, it’s a hobby that harms animals.

Edit: This shouldn’t condone high volume farms that keep animals captive and then kill them. I meant that we can grow enough food from plants with enough nutrients to keep everyone fed and healthy.

The fact that you need guns to hunt. You wanna hunt? Go attack head on with bows, Smarts and strength. Guns are for punks.
