Then it’s poaching, and they take that serious for some reason. Prob no jail time, but you’ll get hit with a big fine.

  3. ERIC says:

it all depends on what you’re hunting and if you were successful.

Violation of permits, season, bag limits, shooting hours and methods of taking game
$50 to $500 fine and/or up to 90 days in jail.

Illegal taking/possession of deer, bear, or wild turkey
$200 to $1,000 fine and 5 to 90 days in jail, restitution of $1,500 for bear, $1,000 for deer/turkey, plus revocation of hunting licenses for remainder of year convicted, plus next 3 consecutive years

Illegal use of artificial light with bow and arrow or firearm
$100 to $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail, plus revocation of hunting licenses for remainder of year convicted, plus next consecutive year.

Carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
$500 fine and/or up to 93 days in jail.

Multiple offender: Two convictions within preceding five years
$500 to $2,000 fine and 10 to 180 days in jail.

Michigan also has agreements with roughly 30ish other states where if you lose your right to buy a license here you lose it there too and vice-versa

Tell them you don’t speak english j/k Kill tag’s for Deer are only 15 dollars here in Michigan same for small game so save yourself the trouble and grab one or did you already get caught

  8. Qbnsizzle says:

Hunting without a license is not hunting, it is POACHING! Depending on the flagrancy of your unlawful act, say you killed a trophy animal in a limited entry area. You could not only be arrested but confiscation of any implement used in the crime(yes, it is a crime)such as weapons and vehicles may be confiscated. DON’T DO IT!!!

  9. WC says:

You will most likely get your gun confiscated and be fined , ifm it is a first offense. If you are a multiple offender, then you will likely wind up in the pokey.

  10. Mike says:

I here a lot of people just saying get a licence it is cheaper and not worth the trouble. Well think of it this way, I am from out of state, it costs me $138 for a licence. I am only hunting to feed my family. I can go to the store and by a lot of meat for $138. So for me it makes no sence to spend the money for a licence. The fine is $25 to max $250, the chances of getting caught are slime. If I do get caught, I am not a jerk, I will most likely get a fine less than the amount of a licence. If I do get charged the max, it will not be much more than what I would have to pay for a licence. My guess is that they would not throw me in jail until they caught me multiple times. In my opinion, Michigan needs to make it licences more affordable for people out of state who want to feed their families so that it was not more affordable to pay the fine. Michigan could make a lot more money if they lowered the price for me and my out of state friends.
