What deer can you shoot with a firearms license in Indiana?
Byok… this is the first year i have actually gone hunting with a shotgun but i am a little confused with the extra tags. From what i can read the first deer you take has to be antlered… then it looks like you can get an extra tag for antler-less? Am i right here or can you take a doe with your regular license too? I only have one weekend to hunt this year which is why the bow season is out of the question and i need to know so i can take advantage.

ok… dont need any smartasses…. i have hunted before but not with shotgun, just need a little help translating the site… it looks to me like you can only harvest a antlered deer but I just want to clarify to make sure i am reading it right.

It should say what you can shoot on your tag. Where I live, the first one that you purchase says any white tail. The subsequent ones say antler less white tail.

you need to go look on the indiana state game comission website and read what they say. im in pa and here we have the option to apply for a doe tag adn if we get it then we can shoot a doe but if we dont apply for it then we can only shoot a buck

from what i understand from it you can use a shotgun for a buck or doe. however you need to get your doe tag ofcourse
so ya you should be able to use your shotgun for either a buck or doe

Why would any responsible hunter go on Y/A to find out what they have to do to be legal? Never could understand that…Go to your states fish & game site troop!

Well you can hunt any speicies but you need to get a tag first. See you can get your general hunting license but you need to buy specific tags for the animal your wish to hunt. To do so they usually have form you fill out which you can get in a game and fish booklet or printed online. They have to be mailed in with a check. And most hunts are a lottery so you may or may not get picked. I’m going for Javelina next spring. Hopefully I get picked this year as this is my 3rd attempt. If you don’t get picked they refund your money for the tag.
