Austin or in the area and small towns around Austin. Beyond that look for university towns that have a lot of things to offer and many have med centers where you can work or for the specialists who are in those areas. San Antonio is nice. Dallas, not so much, Houton, no way. I would stay away from the big towns as the illegals are turning them into shooting grounds and eroding the schools into gang controlled areas. There are many nice towns in Texas, not so much West Texas but north has some great towns. Remember, university towns are great for your family and your particular professions.

Houston has plenty of great suburbs.. Try looking into the Katy, Clear Lake, Bellaire, West University Place, River Oaks, Greater Heights, and Spring areas.

    Good luck!

New Braunfels. It is a wonderful town and its in the best location in Texas in my opinion. It’s 45 mins. to Austin 35 mins. to San Antonio, 2.5 hours to Houston, and 2.5 hours to the beach. It’s located in the hill country which has a ton of outdoor activities and wineries. There are 2 rivers that run through town that are tons of fun for adults and children. Lake Dunlap and Lake McQueeny are minutes away. Shlitterbaun (huge outdoor water park) is located here and the town has seasonal festivals that are great for the entire family. It’s a “German” town and it really has a lot of character and people love to do things as a community. There are two school districts in the town New Braunfels ISD and Comal ISD. Both ISD are pretty good and there are also private schools in the area. As far as shopping goes, there is a huge outlet mall about 15 mins. away just out side of San Marcos and being so close to San Antonio and Austin you can always find what you are looking for. There is a small hospital here and another one in San Marcos but again you are so close to 2 major cities and on I35 its a pretty easy commute. The population is about 50,000.

I would give this town major consideration. I have been all over Texas and this is by far the best place to live.

so your looking for great schools near good shopping?
Western Chambers county! Barbers Hill ISD-exemplerary district.
Baytown is 20 minutes over the county line for San Jacinto Mall, Pirates Bay Water Park & much more.
If you choose this area, here are some things to know, it is divided into 4 basic communities, Mont Belvieu, Cove, Old River-Winfree, & Beach City.

Mont Belvieu-the bussiness center of the area, home to the schools, the local PD & FD, as well as local medical clinic, and grocery store, & a wave pool!

Old River-an older back-woods area that the isn’t much to say about. 3 min to Mont Belvieu

Cove-Home to the most popular housing development in the area, Plantation, no Business except local gas stations. 5 min. to Mont Belvieu

Beach City- if you want to live on or near the bay this is the place to live from RWJ Airpark at the north to I think Jordan Drive to the south you can be in Barbers Hill ISD & on the bay! We also have a local Vineyard here! 7 min. to Mont Belvieu.

The nearby community of baytown will be were you will need to go for the Mall, Hospital, Walmart, & more.

downtown Houston is a short hour away!
Baybrook Mall is only 45 minutes away!

If you’re looking for jobs – Austin and the DFW metroplex are hiring. If you want a good price on a home – look around Fort Worth just west of Dallas. They have two malls on the west and SW sides of town. Plenty of hospitals…. people still get sick here.
