OK, I was just curious, I’m 13, and I live in Melbourne, victoria. I doubt that I’ll ever be stuck in the wild (unless my friends ditch me on camp as a joke…they are mean like that) but I was wondering about survival tips.
Here are a few main things I want to know, but any other information at all would be great.
How to know what berries and tree roots are edible?
How to build a small shelter, in a small amount of time?
How to dress a wound without any medical supplies
How to build a weapon/tool for multiple purposes, eg :hunting, fishing, etc
How to build traps (just curious, this one isn’t important)
How to build and start a fire, without any equipment.
And anything else. Cheers guys, thanks for the help.

P.S I’m 13 BTW, but I already know a little about survival, like how to purify (partially, I know a few methods, but most are not really perfect) water, and a few other things.

Thanks again.
Sorry for wrong section, I didn’t read the end of the category, thought it was other-outdoor.

Thanks.

I’m curious about what brands/makers, and what materials/style, to look for. I’d like to buy something quality that I’d be happy with for more or less a lifetime, as an heirloom, or whatever. I’m able to spend up to $300 on the bow, but obviously don’t mind spending less.

At this point I am more interested in target shooting than hunting, but I may progress to wanting to hunt. I am open to eventually getting another heavier-weight bow to hunt game, if necessary.

I see lots of long bows on ebay. Any tips on what to look for or what to avoid? Thanks!

I recently purchased a Moultrie Game Spy Trail Camera. I set it up this weekend on a game trail that had bear scat, bear prints, elk droppings, elk prints, and lots of ravaged stumps. The scat and droppings looked fairly fresh and there was for more elk evidence than bear evidence. While walking this trail, my son and I both heard something large move through the brush and make a grunting sound. There was also something up the hill that appeared to be a good spot for a den. It looked like a hollowed out tree stump and there were berries all over the place. So I figured this would be a great place to set the camera down. I did not use an attractant.

We went back today, to check it out. Even though we picked a hidden trail, I was concerned about the camera being stolen. Of the 31 pictures on the camera, most of them were taken while we were setting the camera up. About an hour before we arrived, the camera took three pictures, but there was nothing on there other than the landscape. The camera was out there for three days. Any tips on how I can get optimal use of my camera?

We are currently bear hunting, but I really want to use this for deer season, and mostly for elk season.

Okay, i just found out my neighbors field is covered in the little guys and i found a great meadow to shoot the little dudes too. BUT i have a Ruger 10/22 and have killed a few of um with it, but can’t shoot to far, and heard good things about bull barrels though, so i was wondering if anyone had any links to some low priced bull barrels. Like, under a 100 would be the best, but summers here so im gonna be making money so i can buy one over that too if necessary. ALSO, is there any way to get them to pop up there heads, like a friend told me that if ya use a whistle they’ll pop their heads out. I haven’t tried it, but does anyone have some tricks or tips or whatever ya call um? Im 15 and can stack bullets(hunting since i was 4 or 5 and my dad grew me up on one shot one kill). So, links for bull barrels, tips for getting ground squirrels top pop their heads out of their holes, and if ya know anything about how to make a 10/22 more accurate. Thanks!
