Treestand and Firearm Safety, Iowa DNR

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Hi I am Jeff Barnes, Recreational Safety Officer, with the Iowa DNR urging you to hunt safe and responsible this hunting season. Treat every firearm as it were loaded and ensure the muzzle is pointed in a safe direction. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it before firing. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Always wear a full body harness when hunting from a treestand and use a haul line to move gear to and from the stand. For more information and safety tips on hunting in Iowa visit iowadnr.gov. Hunt Responsibly.
