Posted by: | CommentsI am going to be going to california sometime soon, I live in PA, and was wondering what type of rifle to take for boar and big horn sheep.
I will not be buying a new rifle or anything like that, my options for artillery are

.270
.300 win mag
.300 savage
.308 (not sure if i can get ahold of it yet)
.223
7mm
those are my options
if you have any ideas or what gun will work best and what ammo would work best for sheep and boar please let me let me know
also if you know anywhere where i would be able to hunt or where i can get a guide to take me hunting in northern california that would be super helpful too!
also i have a 30-06 pump i can use
Deer Hunting — BIG 8pt Buck Down!!! 156 B&C
Posted by: | Comments
Deer Hunt – www.HUNTNGFOOTAGE.COM I saw this buck briefly 2 years ago. Back then he was a 10pt and I thought he was 4yrs old. Today I was sitting in the same box blind overlooking an oat patch and a road. The buck showed up, I turned on the camera, realized he was a BIG 8pt and decided to take him. I grabbed for my rifle as he was walking out of the frame, got a good rest, re-focused the camera, and took the shot. This all happened in about 1 minute’s time! I would have been in a bow blind, but it was bitter cold, windy, and raining. Thanks to the storm, I went to the blind with my rifle to scout and look for a doe. Sometimes, decisions are made for a reason! deer hunting deer hunting deer hunting deer hunting

hunting instincts?
Posted by: | Commentsi have a ridgeback/mastiff x (Massback? no! MUTT). a few days ago i spotted a mountain lion (cougar?) a few miles from my house. and i got to thinking about my Rocky. ridgebacks were originally bred to hunt lions and i’m wondering what the odds are that Rocky would go after a big cat if he scented one? i’ve seen him stalk neighbors chickens and stray dogs when they trespass. and he stops if i tell him to or he reaches the yard boundary. but how likely is it that he’ll go after a cat intinctually? he was at one time being trained as a fighting dog (fight free for 2 yrs) and i don’t know if that’ll make a difference. what are you’re thoughts on this?
