The No-Chain bill for dogs.?
Posted by: | CommentsI was just wondering everyone’s opinion on the no-chaining for dogs.
I’m about 50/50 for it.
50% of me supports it because of the people who chain their dogs out and don’t pay any attention to them.
Or feed them etc.
And then again some dogs cannot be broughten inside.
(*But thats not really an excuse, anyone could get a fence put up*)
But the other 50% opposes it.
And thats only because I have a Blue Tick Koon Dog (hunting dog)
And she doesn’t get along well with my cats.
&&She especially doesn’t like it in the house.
(We brought her in once when it was cold out and she just cried and cried until she got outside)
But eventually I got a kennel/fence put up outside so shes chain free now=D
But I was just wondering everyones opinion!
Can you train hunting dogs to point/flush and retrieve birds and big game?
Posted by: | CommentsI was just wondering if it is possible to train a hunting dog to point/flush and retrieve birds such as waterfowl and upland birds and also train them to hunt big game possessing two skills in one dog? I am trying to get two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, but would like them to hunt birds and bay big game such as deer and bears. So, with that said, is it possible to have them learn both hunting skills or is it only one skill or the other?? Thanks!

Hunter and Jade on a little afternoon run in Fayette, Utah. Hunter (Dark Roan Liver) is a 7 year old Male GSP and Jade (Solid Liver) a 3 year old Female GSP. Radar (White and Liver) at 7 months old in training.
What can I do for dogs with high prey drives?
Posted by: | CommentsWell, I say that because my dachshund has tracked down a couple of rats and bunnies while on walks in the mountain trail, and it took all of my strength to pull her back and stop her from trying to kill it. She isn’t like this towards anything else. I know hunting rodents is in her breed, so I want to use it. I want to do this because its great mental simulation. So what can I do for her?
~Also if this isn’t called prey drive, I’m sorry. Its just the first thing that came to mind.
Also she isnt like this towards any other animal.
I’m not doing this for killing. Who even said that I want my dog to kill. I meant like competitions. Or fun games. Maybe shows. Dude do you even KNOW about dogs
