I know the GPS ones are like $500-$600 but I have heard about regular radio systems that are supposed to run about $200. Any info on those? THANKS!!!

I’m looking for a good job hunting site for entry level programming jobs, but I’m not having a lot of luck. On most of them, like hotjobs, there will be 2 or 3 real jobs hidden among 100s of work at home scams. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It opened Sept. 14, and still is only showing in one Texas theater. imdb.com says it has grossed 0.8 million and is scheduled to hit dvd on Feb of 2008. With stars like Richard Gere and Terrence Howard, does anyone know why it’s only in limited release?

If you have seen it, did you enjoy it? What are your thoughts?

First of all, I’m not much of a big game hunter. At all. Quail is what I get, but I won a hunt on this ranch in Texas (Won the raffle on a disabled vet donation cause, yes I’m sure it’s legit) and they asked me to pick one of their exotic packages. I’m real excited because this is something I’ve always wanted to do, but at the same time I’m nervous because I haven’t hunted anything like that in way too long and when I did back then it wasn’t even real long distance.
So I’d like to pick an easy hunt if possible while at the same time getting something I enjoy. I’m kinda torn between the gemsbok and eland. I would really prefer a gemsbok since I plan on getting a shoulder mount, but I hear eland’s are easier and I would rather get second best than no harvest at all. Then on the other hand, I saw a site that said eland were one of the most difficult. I can’t find any real set answers.

I’ve already spoken to the guides on this matter and he assures me we can bag a gemsbok. I’m just not so sure because they’re usually such far shots and I’ve never done that…

Yes, I plan on practicing regardless, but I was hoping to hear some personal experiences. Can anyone flat out tell me if they believe one would be noticeably easier than the other or if they’re about the same? Also which would you choose and why?
Is there a different animal you’d choose instead? They have others, but these appealed to me the most trophy-wise. Scimitar oryx is also a possible.

Thank you for your answers in advance and please, no bashing because I’m not a “serious” hunter. I know that already. This is just a lucky break that I’d like to enjoy. Thank you.

I asked a similar question a half hour ago but nine of eleven respondants were from the far right. Hey, it’s a free forum, but I warned you guys you wouldn’t like my idea.

For anyone else, please tell me if you think this could work?

Political deadlock was a major piece of the S&P downgrade. Most of the deadlock arose not from Democrats or conventional Republicans but from the TEA party movement: those who are nominally “Taxed enough already” but who really prefer little or no taxes. “It’s my money” is a common refrain, but many even object to the money itself, preferring the gold standard and opposing any government action beyond protecting the borders. “Sovereign Citizens” take the movement even further, rejecting all taxes or government authority.

Suppose we created an economic ‘nature preserve’ where extreme libertarians could hunt wild game, barter with whatever means of exchange they like, and pay no taxes whatsoever. The government would most definitely need to secure the border. And liberals like me would be willing to pay to make sure no one sneaks across that border in either direction.

When people enter, We could exchange all of their US dollars for gold, at the market price of course, and that alone would reduce the National Debt. People who enter would give up their right to vote in exchange for relieving their obligation to pay taxes or do anything for the government ever again.

If there is a shortage of caves, these self reliant souls could build their own thatched huts, or toss a less worthy person out of their cave. Is that wrong? I’m sure the righteous among them can sort it out quickly and cheaply without the need for government intervention.

This may sound harsh, but just as in the recent Congressional debate, the goal is to find a way to accommodate the idealists of the far Right, without ruining things for the rest of us. If the Tea Partiers are playing rugged individualist in the nature preserve, they won’t be deadlocking congress when it is time for politicians on both sides to stop campaigning and negotiate a compromise.

I admit my modest proposal has logistical problems — how big do we make the preserve? what do we do with people who want to re-enter civilization? — but the important question is, would this help to restore our S&P AAA credit rating?
