I have a friend that has an rural paper route that he drives every morning….he usually carries a louisville slugger with him and hunts them that way…
You would have to find out if night hunting is legal. Put out bait, bread, chicken ,cookies or anything edible not vegetables, they will come. You may need most of the night and you could get lucky wit an early turn up. Put bait somewhere and see if it’s taken, then sit an watch. Attach a good light to your rifle if a 22 be prepared to shoot multiple times,a 22 magnum usually 1 shot
I am not sure what is legal in Arizona so it is your responsibility to figure that out.
You can bait them, but it is time consuming and may not work well. A good way to hunt them is to use a call. You can find them online from bass pro, cabela’s, and other stores. A coon will come to investigate a coon squaller call and sometimes woodpeckers in distress calls. I have done it a couple of times with slim results. But it is fun when you do get one to come out of the den hole to check you out. There is a guy who goes to the trapping conventions in Missouri who sells a video showing how to do it. I cannot remember his name, but you could Google coon hunting and probably find somethjing similar.
