Monster Hunter Freedom 2: Expand Pickaxes?
Okay, so I’ve been doing a little research into the Expand Pickaxe, which I am in huge need of to get more of the rare ores that I can’t get too easily at the stage I am in the game. Just recently got MHF2, so I haven’t even seen a Grav or Diablos yet, let alone unlocked the training for it.
I heard the other way to get pickaxe was to Treasure Hunt. I’ve been going into Online Mode (O Button) and taking Forest and Hills quest solo, yet I’ve taken a few dozen times and only got one Pickaxe, when apparantly they are common to get as a reward. My treasure points vary from 10k-20k, depending on how I can be bothered, but I want to know,
a) Is this the only way I can get them? Am I doing something wrong?
b) Does the chance to get pickaxe depend on your points? Do you have to reach a certain number of points (Example, 20k) to get it as a reward, or can you finish with 3k points and still get them?

No it’s not the only way to get them, you occasionally get them when doing harder quests that involve lao shan lung or shen gao ren. But when treasure hunting you are more likely to get better items (including expand pickaxe) if you get the special items.
