if it was legal in your area would you hunt with a dog?

if the breed was bred to hunt.
if you had a show Q animal thats breed is used for hunting small game would you test the drive and if the dog had a drive to hunt would you hunt and show?
i have heard some breeders argue over this saying a hunting dog would not be practical for the show ring as it would not ACT accordingly while others say it comes down to training in how they behave in the ring and that training to hunt would not encourage aggression in the show ring situation .

what breed would you hunt with and what would you hunt if it was legal where you live?

please star would love to hear others thoughts.
this Q was prompted by me seeing some pictures of my breed hunting and a few conversations i have heard in regards to this among breeders of my breed and others.

in my breed their are some differences (barely noticeable unless you know the breed) between show and hunting (none of which is a disqualifying feature on the standard) working tend to be more leggy with longer necks than some show lines.

it is legal, for bird hunting and small game you can use dogs

Hunting with dogs is legal where I am, but I doubt I will be doing my hunting with my dog up here – local game doesn’t really appeal to me.

I plan to work/hunt and show this dog. Its bull to say a hunting dog can’t excel in the show ring.

I know a highly reputable breeder of Labradors who breeds her dogs for work and show. BOTH. The *show quality* dogs are also very capable of working.

I am not a hunter. I would get no satisfaction out of hunting game. My husband is the hunter in our family. No, he does not use any type of dog.

If he did decide to use a dog it would most likely be an American Pit Bull Terrier bought from a working dog breeder & used to track and hold wild boar.

ADD: Your breed is stunning! OMG. Watching those dogs jump through the tall grass? It is like watching them fly! That was cool as poop.
