I want to move out of parents home to another state, but how?
ByI’m 21 and live with my grandmother. recently I have gotten tired of things around here and doing the same routine day in and day out. I have a part time job so no real career at the moment. I would like to know the steps I should take in moving to Wisconsin from Mississippi. How would I go about finding a decent full time job there? How will I get my stuff there? When you rent, what does your rent cover? Electricity/water? I don’t know any of these things my parents never really taught me about this and to be honest I don’t want them to know I’d like to move out of state, at least not at the moment. I have a credit card and good credit, I recently got a new cell phone and didn’t have to pay a deposit, but I don’t know the exact score. And I also have a credit card which I am paying on because I got a laptop.
I just don’t know where to even begin I know where in Wisconsin I want to live and would like to move there within the next 3 years or less. I own a car which is nearly paid off within another year so I could drive although I have a fear I would get lost, I know someone who lives there who might could ask some questions if they came up for me but I’m not sure how much she could help. If someone knows a site that has lists of sites I could visit for more information about job hunting in one state while living in another, looking for apartments and learning how to rent one, and the best way to move from a state to another I would appreciate it. This is my first time moving out and it frightens me a bit that I will mess up.

Whew. That’s a lot of questions. OK. First go to monsterjobs.com or yahoojobs.com and follow the instructions. You can get job offers mailed to you everyday from which ever state you want to move to and what ever job you want to do. You can also look for apartments that way. On the internet, I mean. You can get driving directions from yahoo maps so you won’t get lost. You can get a uhaul to move your things or you can hire a moving company. You will need quite a bit of money to make the move so you may want to find a second job and start saving money.
Renting apartments; they are all different and cover different things, so when you start looking online through newspapers or apartmentfinders.com make sure you read everything about the offer and call to ask questions.
Good luck. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Definitely do apartment searching through apartments.com and other search sites before you even consider moving. First you need to secure a place and you need some sort of savings in case you don’t find work for a month or two. It would be a lot easier if you have a friend or family that lives in the area because they can help you out just in case. Definitely check out the job banks in the area before you make such a move. You should probably scope out the area before you decide to move. Take 1 week off to walk around and check out the neighborhoods and employment prospects. You get your stuff there by renting a U-Haul truck and you need a credit card to do that. You can tow your car on the back. When you rent, it usually covers water/sewage fees and heating. Usually have to pay electricity, cable, phone, etc. Apartments always need a deposit of $500 or so and they prefer if you have a job too before you apply.
Best thing to do is check out the area first before you make any final decision, good luck buddy!

First off to move in anywhere you need to save up at least first month’s rent, last month’s rent, and a security deposit equal to one month’s rent.
I live in Milwaukee, and its a really nice town in the summer, but bitter cold in the winter, you would def need to buy new clothes to survive up here.
To find good apartments up here the best site is http://www.cragislist.org, and for a job our local paper is http://www.jsonline.com.
My suggestion to you is to apply for jobs from afar, and then come up to Wisconsin for a bit, for interviews at places you applied at that you lined up as well as apartments that you found that were interesting.
Then go back to Mississippi to gather your stuff before heading back up here.
The 2 best towns here are Madison and Milwaukee. Madison in pretty much a college town, and Milwaukee is good size city, with lots of places to pick from.
Good luck in your hunt!
