I need to find help for me and my son to start deer hunting in northwest Indiana?
ByMe and my 13 year old son hunt small game but have never hunted White Tail Deer and we don’t know anybody local that can help us learn how to hunt them field dress them and handle the processing aspect we would like too know where we can find somebody to help with where to go or find help with begining with this for the 2010 season?

I have a couple of suggestions for you.
#1 Call your local department of Natural Resources, etc. Often they have resources for you, and might be able to put you in contact with a local big game hunter.
#2 Ask around at your local gun shop. Most are either hunters or can pass your name and number on.
#3 For processing your game, find a local butcher shop. For better or worse, an animal with hooves is an animal with hooves to most butchers and they can process it for a reasonable cost
I think that it is awesome that you and your son are expanding into big game. The only reason I hunt today is because it was my uncles (and an aunt) who got me started.
