180 grain nosler partition
165′s for deer and hogs, 180′s for elk and moose, bigger caliber for brown bear.
150s for whitetail and hog 180s for elk 220s for the rest i kill plenty of deer with a 30-30
You’d be an idiot to hunt bear with 30-06. I’m sure it’s been done and some people probably do it but do you wanna risk it? Use something like .44 Magnum in a lever action or if handguns are allowed, a pistol. It’d be easier to carry around all day too.
grizzly bear I would use a 200gr Barns X-bullet or Nosler partition
moose 180gr Premium Hunting Bullet
elk 180gr Premium Hunting Bullet
white tail 150-165 gr Premium Hunting Bullet
hog 150-165 gr Premium Hunting Bullet
Find one that shoots good from your rifle in factory ammo or if you load your own find the bullet that is right for you.

Solving the worlds varmint problems 50gr at a time.
grizzly- 220gr trophy bonded bear claw
moose- 220 gr sierra game king
elk -180-220gr core lokt
white tail- 165 -180gr core lokt or speer.
hogs 150gr core lokt.
I use a 110 gr v-max for deer and a 220 for elk. I have never been bear hunting but you will want to go with a heavy bullet like a 220 gr. A couple of years ago Field & Stream had an article that the 30-06 was the most versitile load for North American game. It has succesfully taken down all big game in North America.
use 180 gr. in that 30-06 and just leave it at that, these other guys would have you re-sighting your rifle every time you wanted to hunt a different species, 180gr. will kill them all. as for the 30-30 i wouldn’t use it for anything larger than deer or hogs, but only because it dose’nt have enough range for elk, moose, or bear.
I prefer to use the 180 & 220 grain myself.* The 30-30 has harvested more Deer than any other caliber rifle, with the 30-06 coming in second.*
They make big game ammo that is for sale in Cabelas. As far as a 30-30 I would recoomend not going much bigger than a good size deer, anything bigger and you might not kill it with one shot.
anything i could say about the 30/06 would be theory only as i have never hunted with one, but as for the 30-30 i have taken deer, wild hogs and even a Corsican ram. i have all ways used the 150gr sp. i shot one hog that was about 375 lbs. from about 70 yards. i shot him in the shoulder through the lungs and out the other side about 6 inches from the other shoulder…he fell dead in his tracks
