How do i train my dog to flush pheasant?

I have a long hair dachshund that i want to train to flush pheasants.
he is a strong dog and crazy about hunting birds. is there a way i can teach him to sniff them out and get them into the air.
i doubt it. they were born and bred to hunt badgers and roust them out of their hole. good luck anyhow.
