Does anyone know anywhere I can get this for my browning bar longtrac rifle?
I recently bought a browning BAR longtrac stalker.. Does ANYONE know where I may be able to find the part I need so I can mount a bipod on it? It has a little nipple on the butt stock for a sling but it doesn’t have it on the forgrip, or front part of the rifle.. It does has a post running parllel to the barrel, and this is where u would mount the second part of the sling, strap, but a bipod cannot be mounted here.. Can anyone please help? And I’ve taken it to a gunsmith and there isn’t enough “meat” on the forgrip to screw one of the Harris “buttons” like the rifle has in the back…. Anyone? Thanks..

Since Harris is the standard for bipods, the Harris link might help. The adapters are near the bottom of the page. There are a couple of options from the look of it, the HB 4 Universal that goes on the barrel or you might try the HB 2 or HB 2R (radius) that might need some inletting on the interior of the foregrip-the plate holds the stub and not the foregrip itself. To me the HB 4 seems just an ugly way to get a bipod mount, while the HB 2 would require a little work with a Dremel tool and maybe some epoxy. I haven’t done this, but we use similar things on aircraft and sheet metal projects (nut plates,Riv-Nuts,Pem-Serts,Zues fasteners, etc).
The HB 3 might work too,but again,I’m not familiar with those applications, but it seems to use the horizontal mount hole as it’s mount point, but then you would have to worry about clearance from hole to grip edge. Don’t feel bad, there are rifles like the 710 / 770 Remington and the Mossberg ATR that use injection molded mount in the stock instead of studs-so they have the same problem.
I got a shooting mono-pod for my son,and it works well, and friend of mine uses shooting sticks a lot-not quite the same as a bipod-but they do work.
