Deer hunting in central florida? Where to find public lands?
I got my hunting license about two years ago. This would be my second time hunting and the first time in the US. Last time I was vacationing overseas and I went with some people.
I live near Orlando, Fl and I’m wondering where would be the best place to go hunting on public lands? I know about the http://myfwc.com/ website and I can see where the Wildlife Management Areas are, but I just wanted to know if there is a particular place better than others?
For example I don’t wanna end up picking a place where there are no deer. So I was just hoping for some tips in that regard. Plus any other tips you can throw my way. I’m going with 2 of my friends but we’re all beginners. I’ll be using a Ruger Mini-30 which uses 7.62×39 rounds. Hollow point bullets.
To the person who posted http://myfwc.com/hunting/wma-brochures/ I appreciate the help, but I already know about the brochures. What I’m wondering is which of those places are good to go to? Or are they all good?

I do think this will help
good info I like it when I hit the down south.
You ever been to the big bend WMA ?
Ocala National forest, Citrus Management area, are the two that come to mind near Orlando, there’s Avon Park bombing range and Duette Park not too far away. There are good deer at all these and none would be that far for you to travel.
