Is it legal for me to sell bone or horn handled knives?
Posted by: | CommentsI have been making knives as a hobby for a while and I would like to post some of them for sale in an online shop. I know that it is illegal for me to hunt a deer and than sell the meat or any body part, why then, can I buy knives online with elk or deer antler handles, I have even seen whole antlers for sale.
If someone can tell me what is required to sell these items 100% legally I would appreciate it.
re: woofer
you’re right about gifting and disposition, I can give you meat and I can throw away the bones but its a serious offense to sell the meat, this is to discourage commercial hunting. I just don’t know about selling the other parts
The liberal news media immediately started blaming the Tea Party, Palin and republicans for the shooter and the killings of the innocent victims. Later, after their rush to judgment, liberals and their media could not find a single connection to the shooter and the opponents of socialism.
Well, the bandwagon was down the road, spewing blame but could not come up with anything remotely credible, to lay blame on their political opponents. Somehow all things evil must be blamed on Bush, Cheney, Palin or Haliburton but not even all the spin in the media could find a connection between the shooter and Palin or the Tea Party.
Palin, defended herself, her analogy to hunting was never known to the shooter, any claim that the shooter was inspired or prompted by Palin, was seen by all, as baseless slander. The liberal media provided another perfect example of their bias to the left.
Should Obama have apologized his street talk, “bringing a gun to a knife fight” may have inspired a shooting, huh? If that claim is ridiculous, so is the claim that Palin has blood on her hands for the actions of a psycho, who knew nothing of this hunting analogy.
BUT, liberals control the media and the activist news journalists publish propaganda such as this baseless slander about Palin’s hunting analogy.
Should Palin apologize for the hunting analogy that had nothing to do with the shooting? If so, should Obama apologize for his metaphor about bringing a gun to a political conflict?

In Cold Blood, pheasant hunting?
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve noticed that there is several instances of pheasant hunting found throughout the book In Cold Blood. Once when pheasant hunters come to Mr. Clutter’s home and ask if they may pay him to hunt; he does it for free. It also describes pheasants etched along the shotgun used to kill the clutters prior to the murder. Again it describes “A remarkable day for pheasant hunting” moments before the realization of the murder, and just prior it tells of Perry and Dick arriving at the town. Also, the family of the Life Insurance Agent, receives a call about the murder as the wife plunges a knife into a roast pheasant. It also describes the pheasant hunter’s as just passing through, not affected by the atrocities at all. Another instance, “to a halt, but not the beautiful Indian summer, with its flow of clear, pure days.” It also describes Dick as a former pheasant Hunter. His act of pheasant hunting had adverse effects on his father, as he was forced to pay the bill; he was already sick and didn’t need more pressure. Why did Capote include all of this? It pops up so much, it must have some sort of significance? I’m so bad at critical thinking…
Should politicians get perks?
Posted by: | CommentsRick Perry has enjoyed lavish perks and travel — mostly funded by a group of deep-pocketed supporters — that are allowed under his state’s lax ethics and campaign rules.
Some of the same Texas donors who have funded Perry’s political rise also have footed the bills for Perry and his family to jet around the world, stay in luxury hotels and resorts, vacation in tony Colorado ski towns, attend all manner of sporting events and concerts, and to maintain, entertain — and even pay the cable bill — at the 4,600-square-foot mansion with a heated pool that taxpayers are renting for him at a cost of about $8,500 a month. And that’s to say nothing of the wide range of sometimes-expensive gifts Perry has accepted over the years, including 22 pairs of cowboy boots, Stetson hats, belt buckles, cuff links and at least nine hunting trips.
Perry’s enjoyment of gifts and luxury travel led the Houston Chronicle to declare in a 2009 headline that he’s “a long way from the cotton farm.”
