As long as your not on probation or parole bows are not considered firearms. The black powder I would check with your local Office as DAs have different opinions on the matter if your county leans towards hunting then you will be ok it all depends on the political correctness in your district, not stated in Governmental law.

The above link will take you to a summary of Missouri gun law. It would appear that you can hunt with a bow. In reading the law I saw that Missouri will allow a felon to possess a gun after five years from the date of the conviction. HOWEVER, federal does not allow you to own or possess a gun if you are a felon. Federal law trumps state law. Contact the State Attorney’s office for their advice. Sometimes local law enforcement is not up to speed on these kinds of law. Don’t risk jail because of bad advice. Go to the top dog.
