Basic clothes hunting. Anyone else with this problem?

So I often find myself in a situation where i need a basic, white, button-down shirt. Over the past, say, five years, this has happened a lot between my orchestra concerts and school events. Every time I need one, I try several stores, all with the same result: either the shirts are from the women’s department, not juniors, and therefore too big; or they are not basic and classic enough. I’ve tried JCPenny, Fashion Bug, Wal Mart, K Mart, Target, Peebles, Maruices, and several other random ones. I’m not really looking for a solution, as I don’t really believe there is one, I simply want to know if this happens to anyone else, or if I’m the only one burdened with this extremely frustrating situation.

I have this problem except with jeans. I can never find the perfect pair and it is very annoying and exhausting with shopping. BTW, try forever 21 for a white shirt.

Yes, for several years I could not find a decent white shirt. So I stayed on the lookout for them all the time. Whever I happened to see one, I bought it.

Now I have like 7 or 8 different white shirts in my closet, lol. :)

    Try GAP

I am sure J.Crew has them too, I am not sure if you can find a less expensive place to buy them. On the bright side at least if you have to spare the $44 it will be good quality

I just bought a very cheap shirt from Target and had the arrows in the back made tighter. If you roll up the sleeves a bit, you can’t tell that they’re too long. Such a conservative look isn’t in for teens, so you probably won’t find anything anywhere except for women’s. I also found one shirt that fit really nicely in… Macy’s? Perhaps? But it was kinda expensive, of course… But check int he Petite’s departments!

I’ve been having this problem for 13 years T_T. Fashion doesn’t care about musicians.
