I see a lot of positive and negative comments (mostly negative) on this knife but neither the ad nor one review mentions where the knife is manufactured. Any knife made in Mexico, Japan, China, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, or anywhere else other than the U.S., are completely worthless and DO NOT hold up. Based on the comments made in the buyer reviews, this knife appears to have been manufactured by some foreign country. It is obviously not constructed very well, lacks a great edge and durable sheath. Eliminate all these issues by buying a knife stamped “Made in U.S.A.” or any variation thereof. Try Kabar (out of Olean, N.Y.; they do have some foreign manufacturing plants so look on the blade at the handle/grommet/blade insertion point to make sure you are getting top quality), Gerber (also has some manufacturing plants elsewhere so look at the blade), Buck, and Kershaw, are your top four U.S. blade manufacturers. Old Timer and Shrade; which are the same company, and Case, also make some excellent blades. All of you who bought the 15″ Jungle Master, compare it with any or all of the aforementioned American made knives and I guarantee you will quickly realize that there is no comparison. I highly recommend buying knives made in the U.S.A. I’ll put either one of my U.S.M.C. Kabar fighting knives against the so-called “Jungle Fighter” any day or night. I have been collecting knives for over thirty-five years and have a military background (U.S.M.C. 81-83).
The bottom line; only U.S. made knives have the quality and durability to withstand the most fierce conditions while maintaining their edge, holding their value, and lasting for generations. All others are garbage and commonly referred to as “novelty knives”.

The blade on this knife is awesome. Not a blemish to be found (at least on mine). Nice handle and decent sheath. Very impressed. I would have paid $50 in a knife store if I had seen it there first.

I purchased this because the price seemed very nice for a 15″ survival/gutting knife even though it didn’t say the grade of steel. I found on another site that it’s 440. PS: It’s even cheaper elsewhere.

Unfortunately there are two things I’m suspicious of: first of all, even on the other site I couldn’t find out whether it’s 440A or 440C, which makes a huge difference in long term durability.

My main qualm, however, is not about the blade. It ships with a surprisingly sharp point, decently sharp edge and the serrations look and feel sturdy. I imagine that the blade would hold up pretty well to field use, although I can’t speak to how well it will hold an edge.

The grip material and construction, however, is another story. I can’t tell if the blade is full tang but it feels like it. The grip is some kind of (probably hollow) monolithic piece of hard rubber, which isn’t too bad. The problem, however is that the construction of the hilt, the grip and the butt of the weapon are kind of loose and as I pulled it out of the box it literally clanged around in my hand. It looks like this is merely an issue of the base coming unscrewed and you can tighten it down with your hand, but it comes loose again pretty easily, and I have a hard time believing you won’t have to stop and do this every 5 minutes if you’re putting this blade through the paces out in the field.

Another poster said you can’t tell where the blade is made — it’s stamped, “STAINLESS / CHINA”.

If the grip were locked down tighter, this would actually make for a good fighting knife if you don’t mind the size. It’s got a hefty little pointed screw on the butt, a hilt probably about 1/4″ steel and quite a point.

I’d like to give it 4 but if I can’t resolve the shaking issue, it’s going to be a little useless for cutting into anything harder than a man.

I bought this knife when it was around $15. I’m no knife expert but it seems very solid and sturdy. It came out of the box sharp and clean. The sheath does seem a little cheap, but that’s to be expected for such a low price. All in all, it is a good knife for a very reasonable price.
